Everything you need to know about using Comps Tracker — from logging your first entry to managing your subscription.
Comps Tracker is an app built specifically for UK competition enthusiasts. It lets you log every competition entry you make across 12 categories, celebrate your wins, track your statistics, and save your favourite recurring competition links — all backed up to the cloud.
The Header
At the top of every screen you'll see:

Backed up ✓ — a green dot with "Backed up ✓" means your data has been successfully saved to the cloud. If you don't see this, pull down on the screen to refresh.

Status badge — shows FOUNDER, PREMIUM, or your trial status depending on your account.

Medal icon — opens the My Wins screen where you can view your prize wins.

Support Us button — a Buy Me a Coffee link if you'd like to support the app's development.

Entry counter — the gold circle shows your total entries for the current day at a glance.
💡 Tip: If your backup status doesn't show "Backed up ✓", simply pull down on the screen to refresh and it should update within a few seconds.
The main screen is where you log your daily competition entries. Each time you enter a competition, simply tap the + button next to the relevant category. It's that simple!
Three ways to log entries

Tap the + button — tap the gold + button to the right of any category to add one entry at a time. A satisfying sound plays with each tap!

Tap the − button — if you accidentally added too many, tap the − button to the left of the category to remove one entry.

Alternatively, tap the number directly — tap on the number shown for any category to open a number input field. Type in any number directly — great if you're logging a large batch of entries at once. Tap elsewhere or press Done to confirm.
Logging entries for a different day
Forgot to log yesterday's entries? No problem — you can log entries for any past day.

On the main screen, look at the tab row near the top. You'll see tabs for the current month, previous months, the Year overview, and My Links.

Tap the relevant month tab (e.g. "Apr 26").

Use the date picker to select the specific day you want to log entries for.

Log your entries as normal using the + / − buttons or by tapping the number.
💡 Tip: Your data is automatically backed up to the cloud after every entry, so you never need to manually save anything.
Comps Tracker has 12 entry categories covering the most common types of UK competitions. Log each entry under the most appropriate category to keep your stats meaningful.
📝 Note: Phone (Standard) covers free-to-call or local-rate numbers. Phone (Premium) covers premium rate numbers (e.g. 09xx numbers). Tracking these separately helps you understand your costs vs. wins.
Each month has its own tab (e.g. "Apr 26", "Mar 26"). Tap any month tab to view that month's full statistics and entry breakdown.
The monthly view shows:

Daily entry totals — a chart showing how many entries you made each day of the month.
📊
By Category breakdown — a horizontal bar chart showing your entries split by category, so you can see where you're spending most of your comping time.
🔢
Your stats for the month — including total entries, daily average, Best Day, Win Rate, number of wins and value of wins.
Tap the Year tab (showing the calendar icon) to see your full year's statistics at a glance.
What the Year tab shows

Total Entries — your total competition entries for the whole year so far.

Daily Average — your average number of entries per day across the year.

Best Day — the date on which you entered the most competitions in a single day.

Highest Daily — the actual number of entries on your best day.

Total Wins — the total number of prizes you've won this year.

Value of Wins — the total estimated value (in £) of all prizes won this year.

Monthly Entries chart — a bar chart showing your entry totals for each month of the year, so you can see your busiest and quietest months.

By Category chart — a breakdown of your yearly entries by category, showing which types of competition you enter most.
Logging a win

In the Log a win section, select the date of your win.

Tap Log a Win or the + button to add a new win.

Fill in the details: what you won, the prize value (£), the promoter/brand, and how you were notified (e.g. email, phone call, DM).

Tap Save. A fanfare plays and confetti falls — because every win deserves celebrating! 🎉

A Buy Me a Coffee prompt also appears after logging a win — feel free to support the app if you're feeling generous after your prize!
Editing or deleting a win
There is no direct "edit" button for a win. To amend an incorrectly logged win:

Log a new win with the correct details.

Find the original incorrect entry in your wins list.

Tap the ✕ or delete button on the original entry to remove it.
⚠️ Warning: Deleting a win is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure you've logged the corrected version before deleting the original.
My Wins screen
Tap the medal icon 🥇 in the top right of the header to open the My Wins screen. Every win deserves a proper celebration! The screen displays your total wins, total value and value of your highest win. Your list of prizes can be ordered by Most Recent, Highest Value or by Month. Tap the ✕ in the top right to close the screen and return to the main app.
My Competition Links lets you save the URLs of competitions you enter regularly. The app tracks when each one is due and reminds you which ones need entering today.
Tap the My Links tab at the top of the screen to access this feature.
Adding a competition link

Enter the Competition name (e.g. "Walkers Daily Draw").

Enter the full URL of the competition page (e.g. https://walkers.co.uk/win).

Choose the recurrence — how often this competition runs:
• Daily — shows up every day
• Weekly — shows up once a week
• Monthly — shows up once a month
• One-off — a one-time entry, disappears after you mark it done

Tap + Add Competition Link to save it.
Using your links

Links that are due today or overdue will appear in the list with a green ✅ Due today or red Overdue badge.

Tap the Open button to open the competition URL directly. The competition will disappear from the list until the next time it is due.

Once you've entered, tap the circle/checkbox on the left of the link to mark it as done. It will disappear from your list until it's due again.

To delete a link entirely, tap the ✕ button on the right of that link.
💡 Tip: Completed links hide automatically until they're next due — so your list only ever shows what needs doing today. No clutter! At the bottom of the screen you'll also see a count of how many of your saved web competitions have been entered today. Tap this counter to see which ones you've entered, when each is next due, and to delete any by tapping the ✕ button.
Comps Tracker backs up all your data to the cloud automatically when you're signed in with a Premium account. Your data is safe even if you lose your phone, reinstall the app, or switch devices.
Registering an account

Scroll to the bottom of the main screen to find the Login & Export section.

Tap Register and enter your email address and a password.

Check your email for a confirmation link and click it to verify your account.

Sign in with your email and password. You'll see "Backed up ✓" appear in the header once connected.
Checking your backup status
Look at the header at the top of the screen:

Green dot + "Backed up ✓" — your data is safely saved to the cloud. All good!
🔴
No green dot or different status — pull down on the screen to refresh. If it still doesn't show, check your internet connection and try again.
💡 Tip: If the backup status isn't showing, simply pull down on the screen to trigger a manual refresh.
Signing out
In most cases you won't need to sign out — the app will keep you logged in automatically. You may wish to sign out if you are sharing your phone with another user who has their own Comps Tracker account. To sign out, scroll to the Login & Export section at the bottom of the main screen and tap Sign out. Your local data remains on the device but won't sync until you sign back in.
⚠️ Important: Always make sure you see "Backed up ✓" before signing out or uninstalling the app, to ensure your data is safely saved to the cloud.
You can download your monthly competition entry data as a CSV spreadsheet file at any time. This is perfect for keeping your own records or analysing your comping activity in Excel or Google Sheets.
How to export

Scroll to the Login & Export section at the bottom of the main screen.

You'll see a green button labelled Export [Month] as CSV (e.g. "Export Apr 26 as CSV").

Tap the button. Your browser will download a CSV file containing all your entry data for that month, broken down by day and category.

Open the file in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet app to view and analyse your data.
📝 Note: The export always covers the month currently displayed on screen. To export a different month, tap that month's tab first, then scroll down to the export button.
💡 Tip: Exporting is a Premium feature. If you're on the free plan, upgrade to Premium to unlock CSV exports.
Comps Tracker offers a 14-day free trial giving full access to all features. After your trial, Premium costs just £9.99/year.

Managing your subscription via Stripe
Your subscription is managed through Stripe, our secure payment provider. To view, update or cancel your subscription:

Scroll to the Login & Export section at the bottom of the main screen.

You'll see a box showing your Premium status and the date your membership is valid until.

Tap ⚙️ Manage Subscription.

You'll be taken to the Stripe Customer Portal. Enter the email address associated with your Comps Tracker account and tap Send.

Check your email for a magic link from Stripe and click it to access your customer portal.

In the Stripe portal you can view your billing history, update your payment method, or cancel your subscription.
📝 Note: The Stripe portal link is sent to your email each time — it's a one-time magic link for security, so always check your inbox (and spam folder) after requesting it.
Comps Tracker lets you choose your preferred colour scheme. Your choice is saved automatically and will be remembered each time you open the app.
Scroll to the bottom of the main screen to find the Appearance section. Choose from four themes:
Gold ⭐ (Default)
Dark & bold — the classic Comps Tracker look with gold accents on a dark navy background.
Midnight 🌙
Dark & cool — a pure black background with cool cyan/teal accents.
Daylight ☀️
Light & bright — a clean light background for those who prefer a brighter display.
Spring 🌿
Light & fresh — a light background with fresh green accents.
💡 Tip: Simply tap any theme card to switch instantly. Your preference is saved automatically — no need to confirm or save.

The Support Us ☕ button appears in two places:

In the header — tap the "Support Us" button in the top right of the screen at any time.

After logging a win — a prompt appears after celebrating a prize win, as a gentle nudge if your win has put you in a generous mood! 😊
Tapping the button takes you to the Buy Me a Coffee page where you can make a one-off contribution of any amount. It's completely optional and the app is fully functional without it.
